The course aims to provide, with reference to a residential building, the basic knowledge and methods to:
1) calculate the heating and cooling loads of buildings, design an air-conditioning systems as well as analyze from energy, environmental and economic points of view the performance of air-conditioning plants;
2) design an artificial indoor lighting systems based on the selection of technology, number as well as arrangement of luminaires;
3) use simulation software for designing air-conditioning systems as well as artificial lighting systems of indoor spaces.
At the end of the course, students have to be able (by means of simulation software) to design air-conditioning systems as well as artificial lighting systems of indoor spaces with reference to residential buildings.
